Squarebird's showreel was used as a general idea of how the end project should feel and what kind of style and pacing it should have.
Squarebird is a design and digital marketing agency based in Bristol, I used their showreel as a source of inspiration and reference for the style that I wanted the Wallis Agency showreel to use. I deemed the Squarebird showreel as an appropriate source of inspiration as they operate in a similar industry as Wallis Agency, are well established and have a high production quality.
Considering that the Wallis Agency showreel needed to have a 'non-corporate' feel, I decided early in the planning process to incorporate many different colours rather than the washed-out purple and white text that squarebird used for shots of their office and staff.
Inspiration: (Squarebird)
Early Production:
Early drafts of this showreel had limited images, with an emphasis on video content and keeping the video as short and snappy as possible in order to allow for easy viewing.
Graphics and Editing:
Using visual assets provided by Wallis Agency's extensive portfolio of past work, I constructed some simple and colourful graphics using Adobe Express to illustrate sections of the video and match the music. When animated these would provide a solution to using static images in a video without having to compromise on the amount of content I could use.
Website and Social Media
The showreel for Wallis Agency was an integral part of a new online identity that allowed for a much greater reach and engagement of social media posts. I decided that in order to attract a more responsive audience I needed to make sure the content that was being shown was consistent, both in style and tone.
My efforts were mostly concentrated on Facebook as I believed that the platform's intuitive algorithms could help me easily identify the content that worked best with our audience.
Over the course of about 3 months of regular uploads and post-scheduling I managed to get the Facebook Page reach up by nearly 6000% and the reach of posts up by nearly 4000%.
